BECOME A VOLUNTEER
Volunteers are the most essential requirement to a community programme and Lower Broadheath Community Shop is excited to be able to offer volunteering opportunities to the local community
"Lower Broadheath Community Shop Volunteers will create a meeting place for the community offering resources of convenience facilitated with friendship that will lead to community cohesion"
- The Lower Broadheath Community Shop Volunteers Statement
We are looking for volunteers and volunteer leaders for various different roles to help with promotion, organising fundraising events and to support the day to day running of the shop. We also need help behind the scenes with things such as book keeping, maintenance and stock control. Many of the Community Shop Volunteers we've spoken to have told us how much of a fun experience it is, and how rewarding it feels to help your local community.
Anyone over the age of 14 can volunteer, you don't need to commit to lots of hours or have previous experience, and volunteering is perfect for work experience on your CV if you're unemployed or leaving school.
Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, learn new skills, support further employment whilst supporting your own community and village. For more information you can read our Frequently Asked Questions
